Kit Carson and Lincoln Counties RSVP Office is a member of the Colorado Director's Association Senior Corps RSVP organization.
We have approx 380 volunteers that serve in our two counties, working hard within 11 different communities to help their towns and organizations function. In 2006 these volunteers gave over 114,000 hours of service to projects like providing quilted and hand made items to Baby Bear Hugs, Victims Assistance Programs, first responders (ambulance) and Sheriff’s Departments; Nursing Home Programs; Head Start, schools, museums and libraries; senior centers and faith based outreach. Our program covers a very large area, with an incredibly small population. In many instances, if RSVP doesn’t step in to help in these places, the needs go unmet. RSVP helps to bridge an ever growing gap between services available and those that need assistance.
